You're the only one to port over a song from Battle of the Bits... and you chose a 24k module file that had two channels too many. I actually gave myself two things I should not do: the first is to make covers of SNES songs (especially unsampled ones), the second is to not make covers of .it, .s3m, .xm or .mod files, since they're too easy to just simply adapt.

Ooh, this is quite interesting actually; I can already tell this is not from a SMWC user since Winter Chip is a BotB only thing, so it's quite nice to see this haha
Ngl, this shit is fucking nice as all hell; I have a very soft spot for DnB styled breakbeats like this one, and the rest of the instruments does a pretty good job with getting a very good contrast between the faster-paced vibe of the drums and the chill vibe of the rest of the song; in a way, this reminds me a lot of Aqua Road from Sonic Forces, and that song is also a absolute banger, so I'd say you did a pretty great job here :V
Exodustx0 9.75 98.0
You had me at the opening synth chord samples, but you kept on having me harder. What more do you want, my firstborn?
Fair is fair, I have a tiny piece of critique still; assuming you tuned your instruments such that this port's key is f+, the low d notes (and the low e's too) of the reese bass have pretty weak subbass frequenties. Sadly, this is because of physics and biology; the frequency of the sub at those low d's and e's is under the point where even most professional speakers start dipping in their frequency curves, *and* also under the point where our ears start hearing frequencies with less volume; the f+ is just above both. It still sounds good, but I encourage you to at least think about it, to see what you want to do with it, if anything. Also eh, the loop isn't perfect; I love that pitchbend on the bass, but it throws the rhythm of the loop off-balance, which really doesn't work with this song. Pls fix I want to 10 this so hard this is amazing in every way I can think of

You're the only one to attempt what sounds like an unsampled port of a SNES song. I declined to do that citing lack of interest AND that I would end up making way too many of them if I did so.

Dang this port is electrifying! I absolutely love the loop, the panning is hectic and super nicely done, the samples are gorgeous and volume leveling is top notch; loud, but not thunderous. I'll say though, the noise SFX at 0:25 (src: 1A) could've been a bit lower in volume, but still. Very solid port, lots of captivating detail, replayability is high!

Wow, this sounds fresh. Absolutely amazing samples (though the piano (src: 0E) and organ chords (src: 0D and 0F) are tuned a bit too sharp, the piano a bit more than the chords), splendid panning and volume leveling, seamless looping, and a great vibe. Really good!

This one hits home nicely, having done a bunch of PKMN D/P/PT ports myself. I'll try to not be bothered too much by the fact that these are not the game's original samples haha. This arrangement is pretty good, and the samples to justice to the original song. This song is probably the one cover in this bunch that made the best usage of having a dynamic volume range, with gentler passages and fuller passages. Really well done.

Nice samples, great volume leveling, good use of panning (don't even mind too much that there's no echo). At 1:00, the pad-ish synth in every other beat (src: 0F) is tuned a bit flat. I think a little bit wouldn't be too jarring (adds to the wonky oldschool vibe), but this is a bit much I'd say. Otherwise, nice job!

Awwwwwwww FUCK yeah man, hitting in my nostalgia right here; the Gen 3 Pokemon games is, and still will forever be a part of me and my childhood, and honestly, I'd say this isn't a bad cover at all; I would probably have wished if this took more liberties tho instead of going all accurate (or at least ripped the source of the actual samples with something like Sound Canvas VA lmao, like seriously, the samples sound a bit too compressed for my liking), but it's not a bad effort I'd say
Exodustx0 8.25 76.3
Nice use of panning and echo, good faithful recreation of the original, kudos for using only 6 channels! If there's one thing I'd have to critique, it's that the high strings at 0:58 end pretty abruptly, I'd smoothen out their transition to the lower notes.

Nice! Right off the bat a piece of feedback: the bass sounds good, but could do at an ever so slightly lower volume, and at some places it's really off-putting when it suddenly cuts out. Are these SMW samples? Very creative usage, I'll give you that! Volume leveling and stereo image are superb, and I really like the touches of finetuning in the first bits of the loop, but I have to critique the cluttered sound. There are a lot of low notes playing together, and they make for a very messy, disorienting song. I'd give your tonals a little revision, probably want to up the octaves on some notes/instruments, and I think you'll have something pretty interesting! Great potential, needs some work.

Oh hey, haven't seen this song since Idol 7 lmao
Well, for this port, honestly I'd say that outside of the vibraphone lasting for a bit too long (the original uses heavy reverb instead to make the sound last longer btw), it's not bad at all; both this and the Idol 7 port could be a bit more accurate tho, but this one is definitely the more accurate of the bunch, so I'd say it was a fine effort haha
Exodustx0 7.5 51.9
Good, clean samples, nicely arranged. Nice loop. The echo is nice, though I feel like this port could've used a bit more panning. The xylophone sample (src: 20) that the port starts out with is pretty loud, and what I presume to be a koto (src: 22) is a very sharp (lots of high frequencies) sample, so either it could've used some EQ'ing, or could've done well at a lower volume.

Exodustx0 7 34.6
The volume leveling is pretty harsh, in that the main melodic elements are super in-your-face, and the background chords are pretty stabby (not-background levels of stabby). A little bit of finetuning on that could help a lot. Beyond that, not bad!

Okay, this is one of the best SMW-samples port I've heard in a long time. The samples really compliment the composition! The bass is a bit overpowering stereo-wise, I think that could have a once-over (maybe not too bad an idea to not have it have echo, perhaps the kick/snare too), but otherwise the echo is pretty fresh. Ah yes, Mario Party 3; a game that I played but never managed to get too far with it, which means that I don't have much of a opinion on the soundtrack to my experience
in a musical perspective tho, it's not bad at all; I can tell that this evokes the "deep sea" vibe quite well, and it's a very nice mix of calm and jolly; the synth bass is quite funky too ;)
Exodustx0 5.2 2.3
I think it's fair to say that this isn't a very accurate port. I'll give you that the volume leveling and volume fades are all quite gorgeous, and the sample selection is okay, but note-wise this is very much not an accurate port. If I let go of the original too, the tonality is very directionless. The 'sparkle instruments' (background elements that sparkle things up) have the same issue; they're pretty dry, and don't have much body to them. You show that you're good at mixing though, so there's definitely potential.

Shiny echo! I can't really fault the production quality of this port too much, other that the bass, while being nice and loooooow, lacks body. It's just that the replayability isn't that good :/ this gets on my nerves after a short while. A shame really, as these samples are pretty good and the echo works like a charm. First thing I notice is that the echo is really wide. Maybe turn down the echo volume quite a bit, and I'd recommend inverting either the left or right echo volume byte (not both) to make the echo "surround". On to the actual music. I think sample usage and mixing (safe for aforementioned echo issues) is done pretty dang well. I bet though, if I'd have this in a mario romhack, I'd go crazy due to the constant repetition, so *I don't know* I'm not a huge fan. Still, the sound is good.

Oh I do love sampling like this! The kick definitely could've had a higher volume in my opinion. I am a big fan of the instrumentation, but this *really* could've used some better stereo imaging. Echo or channel doubling (and then panning and/or finetuning between the two) of that nice chord sound on channel #2 would've helped a lot! Sadly I again have to take some of the score off for the entire end-section starting at 2:27, because that *really* needs some work on volume leveling and stereo image. Also, that stab (src: 09) on channel #4, with the echo double on channel #6 (should've done something with panning!) is awesome, and the main stab on channel #2 (src: 04 and 05) are tuned a bit too flat :/ please keep working on this, I love where you're going with this! Just needs some more work.

Well... I think this was a bit of a boring choice for a Castlevania song to cover IMO, there are so many songs you could have chosen instead, even from this same soundtrack, like Wicked Child, Heart of Fire, or even Vampire Killer if you wanted to go the "overrated but still cool song" route; sadly, this was a bit disappointing IMO, nothing else to say :V
Exodustx0 6 10.0
Stereo is pretty nice, volume leveling is pretty good. The loop isn't perfect, you forgot half a measure. My main issue with this port is, while the mixing is perfectly sound, this arrangement is very NES-like; the original song on the NES works because of the instrumentation and the limitations of the console's engine. With this port however, the instrumentation and the usage of the instruments is pretty thin, it doesn't have much body. I'll say that you've laid a good foundation, but now is the time to build on, or mold that foundation to spice things up, to make this port sound fuller.

Exodustx0 6.25 14.4
I don't think this works too well with SMW samples, as the tonal elements fall rather flat, especially the notes that have a lot of emphasis in the original (you could up the volume for those a bit); the octave doubling on the melody starting around 0:37.5 doesn't help on that either. The second arpeggio on #5 has a... strange note (assuming you tuned your instruments to C, g f+ d < b, the f+ is a bit out of place). The loop is nice though, and there are no obvious jarring elements in the mix or the notes. With SMW-sample ports I don't mind too much when there's not a lot of stereo imaging going on, but it's still something to think about.
